If you have booked for the post- Christmas lunch at St. Margaret’s Church Centre on Tuesday 13th February you are reminded that it starts at 12 noon. Please bring your own wine if required; tea/coffee and jugs of juice will be available.
Pat Simpkins’ gift sale at our Christmas meeting raised £18.50 for the society and Pat wishes to thank all members for supporting her. The committee in turn is very grateful to Pat for this donation.
We still have seats for the coach trip to the 50th Thriplow Daffodil Weekend on Sunday 18th March. £19 which includes coach travel and entrance fee. Full payment is due this month. See Richard Chapman if you wish to book.
We are also taking bookings for a coach trip to the Ely Cathedral Flower Festival on Sunday 24th June. This event takes place every four years and promises to be even better than the last one! We do not have the final cost yet, but we expect it to be about £20, which will include coach travel and entrance fee to the festival, Deposits will be taken when all arrangements have been confirmed.
Our next meeting is on Monday 5th March when our president Bill George will talk about Harvey-Harvey George(1848-1910) Barking fisherman of Cod End Castle.
