SOCIETY AND OTHER NEWS

Good news! The Society has been given an Awards for All Lottery Grant to update our equipment; we are to purchase digital projectors, new screen and a public address system. Thank you Lottery!

Our next coach outing on Sunday 25th June 2017 will be to the Hemingford Abbots Flower Festival in Cambridgeshire. The booking form will be available at the March meeting. Please remember that a £5 deposit will be required to secure a booking.

Member Eric Feasey featured in the Barking and Dagenham Post on 25th January in connection with his voluntary work at Barking Hospital.

2017/8 calendar pens are now on sale - £1 each or 3 for £2.

Our next meeting is on Monday 6th March 2017 when Stefan Dickers gives an illustrated talk The Changing Face of the East End.

Monday 13th February. Talk: Folklore and traditions in Essex, by Mark Lewis.  7.30pm.  Ilford and District Historical Society. Ilford Hospital Chapel, Ilford Hill, IG1 2AT.

Tuesday 14th February. Talk:The English Gentleman and his country estates, by Georgina Green. Newham History Society. 7.45pm. Conservative Club, Vicarage Lane, East Ham, E6 6AD.  Visitors welcome £2.

Tuesday 21st February. Talk: Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park, by Kenneth Greenway.. Chadwell Heath Historical Society. Baptist Church Hall, High Road, Chadwell Heath, RM6 6PP at 7.30pm. Bookings for this events are now closed. Telephone 020 8590 4659 for more details.
